Appeal Dismissed

THE appeal lodged by Pat Connors on behalf of Ted Morgan against the referee awarding the fight at Gisborne to Reg. Trowern has been dismissed. It will be recalled that Trowern reckoned he had been fouled and that after leaving the ring for an examination, which showed no foul, Morgan refused to ' fight on when called on to do so. The fight was then awarded to Reg. The Appeal Board has upheld the action of a referee who by his actions showed he was not m close touch with the rules. To "Truth" there are no ' two ways to it — Trowern was either fouled and was the winner, or was not fouled and was the loser.
