NEW SHADES
Brown Will Be Favorite
CVERY season brings new shades for our adornment, and if the manufacturers cannot contrive to invent a new coloi% at least they can call the old ones by new names. Beige has been a favorite for some time, and this year the tones between fawn and brown are just as popular as ever, but we shall call them by all sorts of fancy names. Black seems to be the only old favorite which is allowed to keep its proper title. All the expert forecasts have assured us that brown will be the most modish color this winter, but it will have many rivals to judge from the colorful disnlays m all the leading shops. Those who are fortunate enough , to be able to wear violet shades will welcome dahlia, which is warm and rich, and much more becoming than- the pure violet. <* All the dark wine shades will be very popular a-s well as pillar-box red and henna. ■ . , ■ • ■ ■ For evening wear there is a new smoky pink which shows up jewels to the best advantage. A deeper flame shade -will also be featured, along with duck-egg- green, white, of course, and the inevitable black. , Royal -blue will also be seen, and h.as the merit of novelty as an evening color, while a variety of yellow shades will be among the best sellers. Brown wih not be considered merely as a daytime shade, - for it has great merits for evening frocks. It will stand up to 'hard wear, and shows up to the greatest advantage all your favorite necklaces of jade, coral andamber. ' > . Cocoa is the smart shade to choose, but it is not so easy to wear as the golden ones. Bois x de rose goes perf ectly with it, and when the accessories are carried out m that shade the effect is excellent.
