Whispers From Wanganui

(From "N.Z. Truth's" Wanganui Rep.) 7ARENE has been thrown, out of work, all efforts to get her right having failed. Just what is wrong with this filly is not known. She eats well ' and looks well, but one gallop knocks her right back. At her best she is brilliant and would win a lot ot money. The three fillies which W. Ray- - ncr has just broken m have been named Impetuous, Solarge and Mislaid. They all show plenty of quality and should prove able to gallop. * . * * Impetuous is by Lomond: — Pennon. She has been aptly named as she came .to light a couple of days too soon, and will have to race as a threer-year-old when only two. Bred as she is, she is likely to be very speedy. * #••■.■# The other two are bred to English time, and they will consequently be unable to run m any classics. Rayner has hopes that Mask will continue to train on all right. If he does, the son of Idmond will be given a race at the Wanganui winter meet-' ing, but it will be the spring before he will be back to top form again. * ' * •■ •• • Isa and Valpre are to represent G. - F. Moore at the Wairarapa meeting. Isa is one of the fastest ever up to three or four furlongs, but cannot stay : on. i * '* • Orazone is being sorted out up Taranaki way for the Manchester Gold Cup. She is m great heart and should run well. .#/•■* . • . Paleta is standing up to his work well, and W. Dwyer has hopes of winning a race or two with the son of Leighton during the winter. He will need some racing before he can be expected to regain his best form, but when he does he will win some money. • # ■#■•-*.. Ceremony is riot far off his top form, and if he could be depended upon to run out the mile his prospects m the Easter Handicap would be second tonone. Still, he has run seven furlongs m 1.24 1/5, and a horse that can do that should run. out a mile fast enough for anything. .#• ■ ■ • Pedestal must have a chance In the Eden Handicap. His recent track work points to him as being better than at Awapuni, where with any luck he would have won a race. ■•■.■• '# . * T. Webster Is to ride Ceremony m his engagements at Ellerslie; # # # Arisus has been taken to Auckland and will run m the Champagne Stakes. The son of Thespian is better now than ever, and though he may not be equal to winning the classic event, he is likely to be m the picture, as .he' can gallop all right. # ■ * • ; •■ Bright Glow has shown such good form recentily on the tracks that her ■ prospects of again landing the Easter Handicap at Ellerslie are considered' bright. *• * • Two other Hawera- trained candi- . dates m Richfield and Silvermine will also carry a lot of Taranaki money. Of this pair Richfield appears to have most friends. ' • # • Star Area is going well enough to make it look as if he will show his best form at Feilding, but In view" of his repeated failures recently m his races many of his friends will probably prefer to let him run against them m the Gold Cup. If so they might regret it. # # • Banbridge Is a hack" which might be worth watching at Feilding. His track_work has been good. # ' ■ * '■ • . C. Gordon has Kowhatu m good trim, and the Quarantine gelding is to fulfil his engagements at Feilding m the hurdles. ! ' * . #'_■■* From Hawera comes word that Green Linnet is going to be worth watching at Auckland. * # # Latakia has improved lately, and he may pick up a race during the holidays. "-"- * * # .On her Opunake form Llanore is likely to run well at Feilding. She has gone on the right way since last seen out.
