Surprises Are The Rule In Oaks
■ ■..•■ . •■ (From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland Representative.) THERE have been many surprise victories registered m the Great * Northern Oaks, and it is quite bn the cards that yet another might happen along. It is: the mile and a-half distance which is troublesome to the ordinary filly, at three years, and there is certainly nothing of the staying class of last year's winner, Prodice, engaged this coming Eaglet's spring form will probably send her out favorite* but on her Dannevirke Pup form My. Own is probably deserving of the honor. Belle' Star has been winning m the hack class, and has had plenty of racing, while Tambourine is a late winner of some promise. Duellona won over ten furlongs among hacks at the Auckland Cup meeting, while Lucky Alice has had a fair amount of. racing, and the same remark applies to Biddy Comet. Neither Tasty, Valreina or Sweet 'nt^ncTwell? My Own should be m the final, figfit and probably prove a capable opponent for both Eaglet and Duellona.
