Tier Shed Tears of Sorrow WARNED OFF

Truth's" Gisborne Rep.) f OVE was a serious, thing for a " young native of ;■ Finland, Tsak Edward Tier, but, unfortunately for hiim, the ' ardour of his affections was directed towards a young woman already married. So great was his attachment for the young woman — an attachment which was on his side ,only, for his was an unrequited love — that when the police were finally called upon to intervene rie burst into tears. A somewhat unusual state of affairs was revealed when Tier was brought before the N court to answer a charge of trespass. The police stated that he had been staying at a boarding-house m Gisborne, and While there had fallen violently m love with a young married woman who was • stopping at the same house with her husband. There had been nothing of a serious nature m his conduct, and he had apparently been content to worship from a distance. When the young couple moved to a private house, however, the amorous young Finn became a nuisance. He had been continually hanging about the woman's new home, frightening not only her but also the owner of the -house. On two occasions it had been found necessary to call the police, who ordered the young man away. Nothing, apparently, could temper his love, for on the second occasion he pleaded that he could not go away and leave the girl, and burst out crying. The police m the circumstances placed him under arrest. Following a suggestion that he was probably, mentally unbalanced, the justices who presided agreed to remand Tier for observation. »
