The Dates Suit

(From "N.Z. Truth's" North Island Rep.) TF ever the Manawatu Club has a chance of staging a top-hole meeting it is next month. Last season this organisation raced m March and with no other gathering being held around their way it was asking a great deal o£ owners to travel any distance for a one-day fixture. This season, however, those at the helm of the club must have smiled to themselves when Hawkes Bay switched from June to March 15 and 17. With this fixture closely following Manawatu the smaller club should receive a boost, for now with three days to engage their attention m one week owners should not hesitate to do both meetings. The wonder is that some of the.other smaller clubs do not work m together when assuredly the patronage would be better. ' . ;
