WHEN PASSING

Margin of Safety Is Necessary

A FTER passing and before pulling rt over to the left hand si-dc, motorists should mitke full allowance for the speed at which both cars are travelling, so that sufficient distance will be left between the two vehicles to avoid any possibility of danger. Complaints are general as to the action of certain motorists m cutting m on other vehicles, thereby constituting grave risk of accident. This practice should on no account be followed. Of late a number of accidents have come under notice where vehicles have not been driven as close as possible to the near side of the roadway, thus leaving a very narrow space for the passing of other vehicles m either direction. This practice makes no provision for any unexpected swerve, particularly on roadways where the view of traffic is obscured as the result of bends or hills. .Every care should be taken when I driving round bends m the roadway and over -hills, particularly m country districts.
