ORDERLY KEEPS ORDER

THE peace of the Wellington Maintenance Court having been rudely disturbed, by a husband who loudly protested that he would rather go to gaol than pay his wife maintenance, things settled clown to normal again when the parties were quietly ushered from the. room. No one noticed the Orderly, Bert Warren, smiling quietly, slip from his accustomed chair and disappear after them. Watching from the library window, Bert had a box seat at the little domestic act taking place m the street below, where the husband waved his arms wildly while his elderly wife dodged actively around the bulk of a friend who had accompanied her to court. Whatever hopes Bert may have had of making a dramatic • arrest were shattered when the husband, realsing the odds were against., him, strolled aAvay at last. "No fight," said the big orderly resignedly as he returned to the less exciting duty of calling names m court.
