CRICKETERS are losing no time In getting into form m Taranaki In preparation for the contests which open Saturday. In South Taranaki the batsmen are already hitting out lustily and some big scores were chronicled on Saturday. Crawford 94, and Hughes 81, made most of Okaiawa's 216, and as Stratford had a weak team, they were dismissed for 35 and 33. For Hawera against Hawera High, McKenzie knocked up 65 and retired. In North Taranaki, Town defeated the Country Association m the first representative match of the season. Dr. Randell, 53, showed good style and form. That great veteran, C. Foreman, did best for Country with 22 not out. In a big scoring game, New Plymouth Old Boys defeated Hawera Old Boys, the credit being due to K. Fookes, who hit up 40.
