There has been cause for complaint m the past as to the inadequate facilities provided for the betting public.

The decision of the Egmont Club to race on December 18 and 19 instead of m February, means that there will be racing at Hawera a week before Christmas, New Plymouth on Boxing Day, and the day after, and Stratford on January 1 and 2. This will give a circuit of meetings that should appeal to owners and benefit the three clubs concerned.
