(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special' Dunedin Representative). ALTHOUGH their thirsts remained unquenched, their quest for the frothing liquid lightened the pockets of John Dutton and John McKay to the extent of £3 each, or seven days' imprisonment. ;' -When ■ Dutton and McKay x appeared m the Dunedin City Police Court, to answer charges of being found drunk m Princes Street; of being unlawfully on licensed premises; and of refusing to leave such premises when .requested, to do so, Sub-inspector Cummings described them as birds of passage. They had gone into the kitchen of one. of .the Dunedin hotels and had demanded drink, and when refused and ordered to depart had caused a disturbance and used obscene language which passers-by could hear. When asked for an explanation both pleaded that they were drunk and did not know what they were doing,' but the Magistrate convicted them.
