False Move Against Handicapper
[From ."N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) It is said that a section of northerners are aiming m the direction of unseating the present handicapper to the, Auckland Trotting Club on the plea that none but a resN dent official should hold the position.
"M.Z. TRUTH" claims that the club " -concerned would be ' acting against its own interests if it chanced to give heed to the malcontents. Not only because George Paul has proved the most capable adjuster acting at present m the "Dominion, but because it would probably be against the interests of trotting if all northern clubs were tp drift into the hands of any single handicapper.
The mere fact that the leading club of the Dominion, the N.Z. Metropolitan Club, as well as the Wellington T.C.,. saw. fit to secure the services of Mr. Paul after the A.T.C. handicapper hadv already made good, is sufficient recommendation for. the latter body. to cling to its present adjuster.
