. Are Keynote With jumper Ties
Not a week passes but some new notion is added to the fashion catalogue, and though it may be regarded with suspicion 'at first by our naturally conservative minds, we don't get used to the idea, and feel we are out of date if we don't adopt it. ■' A NEW idea m jumper frocks which ** is finding much favor is the addition of a tie of contrasting shade, appliqued on to the blouse instead of hanging loose. A fancy design m buttonholing or embroidery is generally used for outlining the tie, and the eftjpct is very smart. Embroidered initials are returning to favor, and , now they are placed above the pocket m a jumper suit or coat frock, and are done quite large, with many flourishes. For cold days, tweed jumpers are made to match the skirts of ensemble suits, and they are trimmed. with insets of crepe de chine m geometrical designs; This .gives a very dressy appearance: - \ A new shape m cardigans is sure to be popular with those who like variety. It is fastened with a single button at the neck, which is bound with a broad knitted band of a contrasting shade. The same band is used on the cuffs and pockets, and some brightly colored woollen flowers are embroidered growing out of the pocket. Jumpers m quiet shades should be embroidered m brilliant colors, which would look dreadful unless on a neutral background. Then they are very gay and attractive. As for jewellery, fashion demands cpmplete sets of bright colored stones set m antique "silver, imitation, of course. . ( : The choker, earx-ings, and large oval brooch are of the same design, and the effect is unusually good. \
