Their fine combination* proving too strong, and by excellent work m the circle, Somerville ran out with one point ■m their favor against St. Luke's to top the list m the A.H.A. competition. COMERVILLE was two m the,lead at the interval bell, and Seccombe netted with a fine shot soon after the commencement, placing the^team m an apparently safe position. St. Luke's made play lively, however, and J. Giles was on hand to put the finishing touch to a good, movement when they attacked. The score put heart into the defenders, and again they came with a rush, only to be sent back by the "Watts brothers. Wotherspoon showed up well. He was well backed by Bay. Mt. Eden held all the cards against Epiphany, and had little trouble In securing the victory. Both the tries were secured In the first half. Scoring was higher m the North Shore —University game, and many good Individual efforts made the match bright. . The teams stood even at half-time, and when play was resumed a' good, fast open - display was given by bath teams. The score by Anthonx r that put Shore m, the lead was the result of only a poor attempt, but when he came, again it was a better effort that secured the points. Shore had things pretty well their own way m the closing stages. : :.
