But for that he and Roman Abbey would have gone to Melbourne for the National jumping honors. • * • George Paul was desirous of getting A. Tinker to go across and ride Aussie m Sydney, but Tinker has a big team at Te Rapa, so could not accept the Australian trip. • * * With Roman Abbey and King's Guard, the Hannon stable should get some money among the jumpers at Trentham. * • * Flying Juliet is m retirement just now, but Trainer Edwards will get her ready for the spring of the year. # * * Taku Tama, which is going to ' form one of R. Hannon's team for the Wellington meeting, has been about the -premises several times of late m good handicap sprint class. # # # Prince Lu's double win over hurdles at the Auckland meeting needs only to be quoted when dealing with the future prospects of the Lucullus gelding. «• # * Paddon will be at Trentham. After his fine showing m the Cornwall Handicap they will all wish to be on G. Seifert's chestnut. «• ' * The Gordonton trainer, Ces. Lowe, is trimming up his natty little jumper, Mangani, for an assault on Trentham stake-money. The Day Comet gelding is a bonny jumper. * * * Transformer, which has been spelling m the Thames district, will shortly be recommissioned again. • * • Te Aroha shelters a gelding called Marble King, which is a speedy customer, but somewhat deficient m stamina up to the present stage of his career. # * # Loving Cup, which is entered m the minor galloping grade at Trentham, carries the colors of the well-known Cambridge owner, Mervyn Wells. He has pace up to six furlongs » # # Glena Bay is to mix it a bit on .the Trentham trip as he is m fiat and jumping events. Owner-trainer Carroll has been very patient with the ■gelding. * * * Boomerday is to be given a chance of contributing something to his oat bill at Trentham. • • • Trainer. Mick Carroll is to pack his traps for Australia at the middle of next month, taking Paganelli and Tasty across for racing m Sydney and Melbourne. ■ ■•'•"••""■■=■• • ■ Glenstar has been nominated for some events at Trentham. The Glen Albyn gelding, which is owned by G. A. Reid at Te Aroha, is not a good handler of winter going.
