Hunt, S.M., of Frederick Francis Brindle at the Auckland Magistrate's Court. THERE were three''charges' against Brindle, but on his pleading.-"guilty, to one of stealing a wheel, tyre and tube valued at £6/11^6 belonging to Michael Keady, the other charges were withdrawn by Chief-detective Hammond, *\vho prosecuted. Both nien purchased cars of a similar mqdel-at the same time from a dealer, said the chief-detective, but Keady's had a spare wheel. » This was missing later on and ' was recovered from under a house where it had been hidden by Brindle, who alleged that he had found - It,; •" ■"'.'. 7 ■''-. ."' .. Stating that Brindle came of a i-e---spectaple._',family, Mr.' R. A. Singer said that/he had fallen into evil ways through evil companions. Kpwever, his father would put him on full-time work where he could earn good money, and counsel tasked the court to put the man on probation to give him a chance. "You deserve six months," said Mr. Hunt. "He placed Brindle on very strictterms of probation-and advised him to get.rid of his car which had been used to convey thieves. >
