He Will Censor With Sense
c IT is no idle form of speech to say that Mr. E. Page, S:M., is one of the most outstanding and competent men occupying a seat on the judicial bench of the lower court of
this Dominion. Mr. Page is a man with a wide and humane out-, look upon life, and a sound legal training has enabled him to weigh with absolute fairnass anything from criminal to civil matters that may come before him. He is noted for his restraining influence upon members of the legal profession who are inclined to take things along with a high hand, and Mr, Page imbues anyone and everyone with confidence should they be compelled'to appear before him. One of the rare treats m a court of law is to hear Mr. Page conduct the cross-examina-
tion of a reluctant witness, or a parson who thinks to evade the answering of certain important questions — for here it is that the magistrate displays his keen knowledge of human nature. ... ■ nilllliiiiiiiiiiiuiiiillllllllilll'iiilllliiiilliuiliiiiliiliiiiiiMliiiNllHiiiiiiiiiiiii'iiniiiiini
■I What, then, could be better than that : this learned magistrate should be elevated to the chairmanship of the ! newly-formed Kinematograph Films : Censorship Advisory Committee, un-,
der the Kinematograph Films Act? With such a man at the head of affairs, the Committee can be assured of sound advice and a leadership that cannot but prove to be entirely successful. It would seem that by the formation of this Advisory Committee the people of the Dominion will be able to look forward to something of a higher standard than usual, and the members of t n.e Committee are certain to see that only the best is m future exhibited. .> Mr. E. Page., is a busy man as senior Magistrate of the Wellington area, but he will
not be restricted m his new sphere of activity, and there can be no doubt that whatever he does will meet with the absolute approval of his committee and the public as a whole. iiimmiimiiiiimHiimiiiiiiiiimtmimmimimmwiiiiiiimiiiliiiiliiiiiliiiiiiiiiii
