A CASE was called m the Welling- " ton Magistrate's Court, and Mr. B. Croker intimated that it was not defended, and could, therefore, be; proceeded with. Mr. A. B. Sievwright thought differently. "That case is defended," he stated, "so you can stand down, witness," the latter to one of the parties who had entered the wit-ness-box.
