WILL BE HOT
Pro. Golfers Meet Next Week (From "N.Z. Truth's" Golf Cor- . respondent.) Professional golfers throughout the Dominion are at present training hard for the annual autumnprofessional tournament, which is to be held at the Waiohiki course, Napier, commencing on February 21. THERE will be but few professionals who will not be competing, and the results of the various events will be followed with keen interest. R. C. Butters, the Miramar professional, who last year won the Myers Challenge and Gibson Clips, is going to do his best to prove his right to these trophies for another year. Andy Shaw (Waiohiki), the present professional champion, will be an exceedingly tough nut to crack on his home course.' He is playing par golf and better at the present time, and is undoubtedly the best golfer m New Zealand just now. Whoever beats him on his own course wiil need to be able to make his clubs do their stuff properly, and to display the velvet touch on the putting green, ..the only department of the .game m which Shaw is not an adept. Moss, Auckland, is at present holidaying m Australia and it is very doubtful if he will start. Ted Douglas, an ex-New Zealand champion, has more time to practice now that he has returned from, his trip Home, and should be heard of when good golf is bei ng discussed around the club-house at Napier this month. "Genial Jock" Galloway, Palmerston North, -has not been enjoying the best of health lately, but has f<vtunat.oly recovered "and with H. R;. Blair (Shirley, Dunedin), will be there or thereabouts. i
