Junior Tennis Rep. Improves (From "N.Z. ' Truth's" Christchurch Rep.) Though he originally, intended not to defend his. junior national " tennis , title, representations were made to H. A. Barnett by the 4 Canterbury Association and he decided to go to Auckland. THOUGIJ he has ihad little play this season, the. earlier portion, of which he. spent with his parents on Chatham Island, he has quickly struck his form and m practice matches with men on the .provincial ranking: list he has disclosed that his game this year is much faster than last season,' as he hits- with greater strength an/1 accuracy..;, : ■-■' - -V;--. '■'■■■'■■■■■■'■' ■'■■'■'•■'i»; There is not a player m Canterbury who gets such length as he .does, for, he finds the baseline with unerring ■consistency. • ."-.,..■. ',- ... ':"■' ••' In his present form, Barnett seems to' stand m 'a' class by himself among: the junior players, for. he ;has all the stroke equipment' of a seasoned adult. The power of cpncentratibn and an entire absence, of self-consciousness are valuable 1 .attributes Which will. help this promising youngster to go a long way.
