Partial Short Is Bothersome
"OALF" troubles, like half-truths, are -*"** 1 especially puzzling and often are dangerous. The trouble tnat goes only half way and that leaves an owner m doubt as to just what is wrong may sidetrack him altogether and lead him to a repair bill. This is well illustrated m the case of a partial short circuit which is not sufficient to blow a fuse. If the engine develops a series of skips, therefore, it never occurs to the average motorist that the trouble may be due to a series of slight short circuits. These are very apt to occur m the high tension current wiring, thougfr*they may be m the wiring to or from the ignition switch. Eventually they may develop into a dead short, so that if the owner continues to think his trouble is due -'to sticking valves or defective spark plugs he may keep going until a breakdown more seriously inconveniences him.
