Batswomen Are Out In Auckland (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) Batsmen — or should it be batswomen? — of the Girls' Cricket Association took the field clad m smart tunics recently, and wickets began to fall to deadly under-arm • bowling. TRUE, there were also some ex- ■*■ ponents of . the' over-arm delivery, and there was no: "Oh, I say, I beg your pardon," as the bails went flying. Some of. the demon bowlers did not even smile when tney went their opponents away dragging their bats. It was no afternoon tea party, anyway, for the maids were m earnest, and what they lacked m cricket ability was compensated by their keenness.
