Christmas Contrasts

On Christmas Day, there will be those— Who'll be clinking a festive glass, And singing a cheery song: Round tables the best, Will sit many a guest, At the call of the Yuletide gong. Gathered around a kingly spread. Ladies m grand array: All money can buy, •; For the rich and the' high— On their tables for Xmas Day. And there will be those— Who'll be making a meal on bread, In a home with a cheerless wall, And mothers who'll go Without food 'cause they'll know There isn't enough to feed allMen will be walking deserted streets, Treading a friendless way; And chaps who've been struck, With real hard-time luck— They'll go hungry on Xmas Day. — -F.H.
