Dunedin Cricket Improving (From "N.Z. Truth's" Dunedin Rep.) Those who expected big things of Eastman' when he made hia batting debut m match play at Dunedin last Saturday, were disappointed. THREE minutes after taking the A crease he was dismissed lbw when trying to pull McGregor to leg after scoring two singles. With their score at 78 when the coach went m seventh wicket down (playing 12 men), the Colts held high hopes of eclipsing Dunedin's 139, but McGregor was the chief skittler and rattled out five wickets for 16 runs m 12 overs. Heenan was the only man to make any sort of a show Avith 29 of the total of 115. Albion made a valiant effort to reach Grange's 462 (declared for S wickets) of the previous week-end, Shepherd contributing a healthy 65 for a total of 206. / Elmes, however, kept the runs down and his reputation up by taking 7 wickets for 86. Old Boys concreted • their entry into the senior competition by downing Carisbrook with a good margin m the first innings, A feature of this match was Dickenson's (Old Boys) hat-trick dun'ng Carisbrook's second strike, the three wickets costing only 18 runs.
