Attractive Racing At Dunedin Headquarters (By "The Toff.") The spring meeting- of the Forbury Park Trotting Club will extend over two days, while the fields are likely to foe thinned owing to several horses having two engagements each day.
IT is quite on the cards that the high priced ex-North Island crack trotter, Koro Peter will have an army of supporters m the Roslyn Handicap. -. So far Victor Bingen has not been seen m saddle, but there is no reason why he should not go well with the weight on top. Of the remainder, Kyra, a member of W. J. Tomkinson's team, will receive most attention from backers. When the numbers go up the order may be Peter, Victor Bingen. For the Progressive Handicap, Danny Boy will have several friends, so will Limosa, which is long overdue. Sir Author and Star Lady are pretty good sorts, so when they get to business, Donald's Elect and Danny Boy may be conspicuous.
Everybody takes a keen interest m the "first leg" which, on this occasion, Is the St. Kilda Handicap. Manwharite should be favorite and what beats him should nearly win. His toughest opponent is, St. Bridget, who went like greased lightning when she was narrowly beaten by Warplane at Otahuhu last week. On that form she will have Manwharite hot under the collar when the straight is reached. Unless something goes amiss, Nelson Ata and Commander Bingen should be well placed, m the Spring Handicap. They were successful at Oamaru, where both won with a good deal m hand. Nelson's Prince is a solid customer and he should be next.
