GOOD FINISH
Jolly Chimes Run AtPetone (By "The Toff") Flicking his whip and whispering to Jolly Chimes, Jimmy Clarke had the pleasure of saying "Hovv'do" to the judge after the contest for the November Handicap at Wellington. . LIE drove a good race, being satisfied 11 to trail Marshall Neil to within' a furlong of home, where he called upon Jolly Chimes. The rest was easy so far as Marshal Neil was 1 concerned, for he got the stitch properly. But Free Advice and Wharepiana now had to be considered. y From about a hundred yards behind the leader at the mile and a- half disc Free Advice made a brilliant run and Jolly Chimes had to be chased along to arrive a length m front of "Spotty" Bryce's good mare. Stan Edwards drove Wharepiana a nice race, and she stayed on better than she usually does and obtained third money, but her stable-mate, Mate o' Mine, and Billy Sea, The Abbey, Talent, Menember and Avenger were never m the hunt. Golden . Bubbles was well enough nlaced for a mile and a-half, but she tired badly over the latter stages. Maxegin began fast, but left his feet when he had gone about twenty yards, and never settled down till the field had gone past him. Marshal Neil made the running for a mile and seven furlongs, but could not withstand the challenges of Jolly Chimes, Free Advice and Wharepiana..
