SPRINTERS
Two With Real Chances SOUTHERNERS (By "The Toff.") Granite City is one with a show at Petone and off a 2.15 mark m a 2.16 class 'he must have a good chance m the Sharpe Handicap. LJIS second to Rebel m a similar race 1 * m September still Is fresh m the minds of the light-harness fans. Then on Oamaru happenings Brutus must be a safe bet. He beat Granite City on the same terms at Oamaru as they will meet on Saturday. At Oamaru, Brutus ran into third place m 2.13 4/5, so if he repeats that time at Petone on Saturday he may finish m front of Granite 1 City. From 36 yards the speedy Acre looks a possibility. He won nicely at Acldinytpn, and a mile m saddle should suit him. . When the judge has to get busy he may hoist the numbers of Brutus or Granite City. The last event on the card is the Electric Handicap to be run over ten furlongs; it is a 2.46 class. Double Event only has to begin to be troublesome, but if Hooper takes Audacious north he will be hard to beat. Black Admiral from 24yds. has a big chance and so has Logan " Park. When they settle down it will be found that Logan Park and Black Admiral are dangerous.
