HIS SUCCESS WAS DESERVED
WHEN Talisker came horne 1 first m the Levin Cup last Saturday nobody begrudged "Snow" Moroney the win. As a two-year-old, Talisker was bought by Mrs. Elgar fronvJ. S. McLeod for a big price, and. then, like many another high-priced one, failed to do his job. . . ■ As temperamental as an old maid, Moroney had one full-sized job to condition his charge. , Va start would no sooner be made for a meeting than Talisker would commence to sweat, go off his tucker and generally fade away to a skeleton. \Race day would find him an exhibit for a circus. But Moroney persevered, and while doing so had to put up with much good natured banter. Strange to relate, last Saturday the horse did look better than generally was the case— he stripped something' like decent. Being a free goer there is little worry m his getting a position, and ■ Arthur Fratus had him handy all the way. From the turn home there was no .need to look for the winner." Winning the trophy that went with the race would please Mrs. Elgar and friend husband. ''■ ' ' niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiMmjiiiiiiiiiMiniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimiiiiiim
