Those "Bob" Cushions

THERE are night trains m. the South Island. Sonic humorist has, chosen to designate them as fast expresses. Naturally, people expect to obtain, a little sleep on the journey/ And because of this the department charges the sum of one shilling for the use of a pillow that is little more than a small cushion. True, m the North Island, the sum of one shilling is charged ; but, on the Main Trunk, the pillows are at- least a respectable size and not a" tiny bag of cloth filled with the merest amount of kapok. Indeed, it is so "hot" that one passenger' actually thought that the amount 'entitled him to keep the cushion! ■ Poor old John Citizen! He stands a deuce of . a lot ; but 1 to pay a shilling for an insufficient pillow on which to lay his. weary head for an hour or two is well over the edge.
