TWO Paramount features coming to the Regent, Wellington, to-mor-row (Friday) are "Doomsday," featur r ing Florence Vidor, and "The Last Waltz," from the famous musical comedy by Oscar Strauss. In the first picture, a strong 1 cast and a remarkable story combine effectively to furnish more than the usual amount of inspiration. "Doomsday" is a picture with a moral. It is woven m startling fashion through the fabric of a love story taken from life. A disillusioned girl, wear y of endless drudgery, faces a momentous decision. Love -or luxury? __ She makes her choice, only to find that she did not know all about life or all about work. The locale for "The Last Waltz" is taken at thai famous winter pleasuferesort, St. Mofitz,. Switzerland,' and tire story deals with the romance" of a gallant young" officer who" captures at princess under the very guns' of a firing squad. There are mystery and drama/ Brilliant spectacle and' court intrigue, all to the tune of an old waltz. During the screening the Regent orchestra will render appropriate music.
