A PROBABILITY

Short Steeplechase Suits Him (From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.) It was the racing condition which Wee Marble boasted, that gained for the Marble Arch gelding second money m the Greenlane Steeples at Ellersie^ "THERE is not a great deal of him, but 1 he has quite a lot of pace over fences for a bit. If he can be kept down near the minimum, there are prospects of Walter Garrett's charge paying his way over short courses. Wee Marble had been outpacing most of the rough steeplechase crowd over a round of the Ellerslie country m his schooling work. That explains why he was made favorite last Saturday. ' ;■
