U ADVANCE, Greymouth." P. J. xTL McLean, popularly known on the

West Coast as "Joe," has not painted the slogan on his business shingle, but it is one, nevertheless, that he is never tired of voicing.

Greymouth owes a good deal to Joe McLean, who has done — and is still doing — his little bit to boost the town and the Coast along.

It is largely .clue to his efforts that the new road 'that will link up Greymouth with Westuort will soon he an accomplished fact, for McLean has spared neither time nor effort m his earnest desire to see this new highway oDen for traffic

Chairman of the dreymouth Chamber of Commerce, Joe Infuses plenty of pep into that body; nothing that is likely to benefit the town and district escapes him.

He- has grown up with the town and is a merchant m a big way. Busy, yes, but he can always find a spare minute or two to talk about the Coast. • ' ■ If Greymouth ever thinks of appointing an official booster, the City Fathers could do worse than appoint Joe to do the talking for them, for he is a man ■with an unlimited store of enthusiasm and civic pride.
