Always loosen the rollers before putting the wringers away and always oil overy time you use it. # # # TO remove water stains from a polish- * ed floor, rub over lightly with a soft rag dipped m turpentine. # * 9 TO remove grease marks from car- *• pets, cover the mark with blotting paper and press with a hot iron. If this fails to remove it, cover the spot thickly with powdered magnesia. Let the powder, remain for a few hours and then brush off with a stiff broom. # # # WHEN linen has been over-blued it " should be rinsed m vinegar and water. # « * A TABLESPOONFUL of salt to each " quart of washing water will brighten up the colors of cotton materials. They should be rinsed in' water containing- 1 tablespoonful of vinegar to every quart. # * * ' A FURRED kettle takes longer to ** boil than one that is not furred. To remove the fur the kettle should be heated on the side of the stove, care being taken to see that it does not burn. When it is really hot tap the sides with a piece of wood when the fur will drop away. Do not fill with water until the kettle has become quite cold. # • * JJLACKLEAD marks on a carpet may ** be removed by making a paste of Fuller's earth and water to which a few drops of ammonia have been added, and applying to the stains.
