The win was overdue. # * # Joy Bird duly turned up a good winner last week. The right people fully expected that saddle event. # * * A swag of cash went west when Great Peter failed m the Hawera Gup. He met trouble owing to some fault of the barrier. '* * • Punters got tangled at Hawera. There were several decent prices. # • • A few wise ones stood to Gold Jacket last week, but very few when pitted against Great Peter. Gold Jacket is evidently becoming, solid. #• • * Be a little bit with Gold Dial m future. She Is regaining form. # ♦ # Derby Lynn is a decent sort of a customer and will win some good stakes. # * * Shadowland still keeps on getting a little cash.
