HE CAME DOWN

Bilbo's Two Falls In Two Starts

Backers of the Bilbo-Solzia bracket m the Riverton Cup received a severe jolt when Bilbo fell a hundred yards from the judge and brought down Solzia, which, m turn, prejudiced the chances of Overhaul. This is Bilbo's second consecutive fall. ; TABOO, Solzia and Overhaul were the early leaders, the former making a good pace for half a mile, when Fairy Herald began a run. Solzia was joined by Bilbo at the top of the straight, with Overhaul, Circulation and Queen Balboa all m the picture. Half-way to the judge, Bilbo spilled out and Solzia came over him, leaving Circulation an uninterrupted run to the post. Queen Balboa was two and a-half lengths away and three lengths ahead of Overhaul, which was interfered with m the fall. Had the bracket stood up, it is a matter of opinion whether the result would have been different, as Circulation was ridden patiently over the early j Btages and put m some great work from the top of the straight.
