IN NEW YEAR

Waikouaiti Events Discussed

(By "The Toff.")

A big crowd will go to Waikouaiti on January 2, it being the club's annual fixture.

ARROWMIR, Gay Sonnet, Tripa-way rt and Lady Dilatory are in the Bray Memorial Handicap.

At the finish, Tripaway and Lady Dilatory will probably be in the lead. In the Waikouaiti Cup, John Bradbury, Gay Sonnet and Arpent should go best. In the High Weight Handicap, Green Cloth. Heather Lad and Armchair are the most talked about.

Regarding the Hawkesbury Hack, Solgele and Tripaway will have to go well to beat Amorist and Lady Dilatory.

In the Orbell Stakes, Gold Brick and Gay Sonnett will be in the boom.

As for the trotting events, Emulight should go pretty well in the New Year Trot. So will Leona Bingen.

In the Domain Handicap, Emuliafht and Locandaline should be handy at the finish.

TORQUIL'S day cannot be far off. That was a respectable third he ra-n in the seven-furlongr Robinson Handicap at Ellerslie on opening day.
