Goodbye, Burwell!

A NOT'HER good man is retiring from <r* public service! F. Burwell, town

clerk of Invercargill, is in a short time laying down the pen for the pruning: shears.

For he believes that- there comes a time in every man's life when outdoor work makes a pleasant change. He has, accordingly, stated his intention of directing the destinies of a. fruit ranch.

A pleasant change; but a good man is hard to replace — and Burwell is one of the best. : ;

Southlanders in general will regret his going away; but they're good sportsmen down there and they realize that when a man has unselfishly given his best years to the public, he is entitled td make a move.

When he gfoes, Burwell will carry the best wishes of almost countless friends in the Dry Centre.
