Human Kindness

SOME people have quaint hobbies, but none so strange, perhaps, as that of Bert Vinsen, of Stratford. Bert has, from time to time, run an amateur circus for various, charities. Imagine a circus replete with tumblers, acrobats, wire walkers, clowns, performing horses, dogs and even a dancing rooster, and you have an idea of the kind of circus Vinsen manages to put on.

Born on the "West Coast of the South Island not so many years ago, Bert, early in life, 'proved that he could do almost anything with animals ■and ' his reputation was such that many professional circus people purchased trained horses or dogs from him.

He 'is as ' popular in Stratford as warm rain is to the cow cockies, and runs a flourishing business mainly built up on personality and square dealing.

He finds time to organize many Charitable functions, and is a valued member Of the Opei-atic Society.
