BENZINE GAUGE

TPHE motorist without a proper * benzine gauge attached to his car is always perplexing himself with the question: "I wonder how much juice I have m my tank?" There was once a man who screwed ofg the cap of his tank and struck a match to see. They haven't found him since. Others go through the screw-ing-off process and then search for a thin stick to test the depth .of benzine m the tank. One method is fatal, the other a waste of good, time, and very unsatisfactory. Some makers have overcome the difficulty by attaching proper meter gauges, but not all cars are so provided. A new and simple device which has just been perfected locally can be fitted to any car. To the ordinary screw cap of the tank is attached a slender aluminium rod which, as soon as a small nut on the top of the cap is removed, allows the rod to rise. Marked with half and one gallon measures, the driver can tell on the instant w- .it amount of juice his tank is carrying.
