PERIOD OF CALM BEFORE TEH CHRISTMAS STORM BREAKS

IMPRESSIVE

Ti Tree's Takapuna

Form

(Prom "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auck--1 . land. Rep.) There was a lot of trouble after going almost two furlongs m the Takapuna Plate and almost half the field suffered. INTERFERENCE \or not, Tl Tree would have been decidedly unfortunate had Bhe not shared m the honors. ' ■ i She never really loomed into the^ picture until the final bit,, when she came with an Irresistible dash and just missed grabbing th© big end of the stake. Another stride and Chas. Macindoe would have beoome possessed of the extra stake money and an 80 soy. gold cup trophy instead of having to share the prize with Macroom. There ia not much of the daughter of Tea Tray-Taimai, but -what there Is of her is evidently good. It will not be surprising to note Jamieson's charge go further m the stake earning line. She has now to quit the hack ranks, but can be placed to win In open company. Ti Tree was not what could be termed favorably placed on No. 12 at the barrier m the Takapuna Plate. Out m the, open class on Monday she ■was a hot "pop" and home she rolled. And many of the brethren were left lamenting! Tl Tree's dam, Taimai, was a really . good performer on the turf up to ten furlongs. So don't forget that.
