UOME on leave froni. France In 1 July, 1917,' Norman Came, a wielder of the paint-brush by profession, met a fair, damsel and at Brighton, England, added the •name of Came to her two Christian names, Florence Cora. Whether she was disappointed m not finding him the Owner of a toheroa ranch or a oabbage-tree plantation is not kndwny but he stated m the Auckland Supreme Court, where he applied for a divorce, that Florence did not like the Dominion or the people she met here. To bring peace and happiness tothe home, Came even went so far as to expend £70 to bring out his wife's mother and sister. For a while he supported the whoje family, but they had the same prejur drees as Florence. Then along oame a man whOj fell for the charms of Carne's Imported sister-in-law and this gentleman — seemingly very pleased with his bargain— paid for tho mother, his wife and Carne's wife to return to the Old World. Mrs. Came promised to return, but alas and alack! A year and a-half went* by and still she stayed m her own land. All's well that ends we11,., how ..ever; Came obtained his divorce ' last week.
