4 : THE petition for divorce of Ethel Eliza Rayner against her husband, 1 Frederick John Rayner, doctor of dentistry, of Auckland, which was set down for hearing last week, has been' stood down until next Supreme Court session. Lawyers Singer and Blair appeared for petitioner and Lawyer Northcroft for respondent. A jury had been summoned to hear the case, but their services were not required; on counsel making a brief appearance before Judge Reed, Lawyer Singer intimated that the hearing could not be proceeded with that day, but they would be prepared to go on with the hearing on Friday, November 11. On Lawyer Northcroft concurring, his honor observed that as it seemed the case would be a lengthy one", it might be as well to warn the jwry«to attend at 9.30 a.m. However, on Friday it .was announced that the hearing of the case had been postponed, until the next sessions< No reason was given m court.
