Mosaic Over Ten
Furlongs
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland
Rep.) Mosaic is little more than a pony, but what there is of him is good. FOR consistency m ten-furlong- events r his recent displays m the north will take some heading off. Starting off m the mile and aquarter Hamilton Handicap at Te Rapa, with 7.3, he was second to Llandudno m 2.6 3/6. Two days later he carried 7.7 home first m the Members' Memorial (ten furlongs) at Cambridge. Five days later at the added. weight of 7.11 he made a better class look cheap over a similar distance m the Goldfields Cup. In this race, at Ellerslie, he did the journey m 2.8. How he will shape with real weight on his back m the best handicap class remains to be seen. He certainly leaves the impression by his easy victory m the Goldfields Cup that he has not stopped winning yet a while. Mosaic is the best horse Some Boy gave to . the turf, and Some Boy could, carry weight fairly well up to a mile. Mosaic has a burst of brilliance which secures him a favorable position m his races. This should stand to him, especially on some of the country tracks.
