Algy 's Example
IT is seldom that the cheery and popular Professor Algy, of Auckland, appears m wig and gown before his honor. When he does do so, however, it is a matter for regret that the Law Society is not acquainted with his intention m order that it might suggest to 75 per cent, of its members that they make it their business to be m court at the time. The genial and brainy professor's clear enunciation, properly modulated vdtce and terse, yet comprehensive submissions are positively refreshing m a court distinguished mainly for the mumbling incoherences of the majority of the legal fraternity, whose sole object seems to be to get as close to the witness-box as possible and from there to carry on a hushed tete-a-tete with the witness.
