SUCCESS AT BOTH
VERY few men indeed can make a success of breeding and racing horses. To do so they must satisfy their clients and then make their own string pay. In New Zealand, George Currie is one that has combined both sides with success. Another breeder * who has made a success m two different phases of the racing is J. G. Duncan, better known as "lan." As a legislator at the conference he is always worth listening to and his knowledge of racing is perhaps unsurpassed by any one other individual m the Dominion. His stud at Waikanae turned out •winner after winner and now from Elderslie, out of Oamaru, the youngsters are carrying on the good work. Iri his annual address to the conference this week Sir George Clifford made mention of his desire to have someone else take over the presidential chair. When, that time does arrive there is a feeling that J.G.D. will be the one chosen to fill the place vacated.
