Missed One Day, Won Next Star Stranger's win m the Rac-. ing Club Handicap set a lot of people thinking deeply. TN the Cup two days previously Star ■*• Stranger was never m a winning position and when the post was reached he was no nearer than eighth, and there was a lot of ground between him and the winner. On Saturday with 2lbs. more he won oyer a furlong less distance. He joined issue with the leaders just after the field turned for home; had to pull out from the fence after going for an opeiiing there, and m the iast stride beat Piuthair by a nose.' It was certainly a big difference from the Cup, and it is more remarkable when the -time, 2.17, an' Austi'alasian record, is' taken into.' consideration.
