BUSINESS FIRST
UTXjTHAT could a poor man do, do, VV do, do?" the old song said. When he looks around today he begins to wonder, not what he can do, but what will be left to do m a few more years if the present feminine advance continues. Miss Joyce Grew, of Auckland, is very much a woman, with a wonderful versatility and a. very fine business acumen; Though nowhere near the two-score span of life, she has had a very considerable business experience, which commenced m or about the Big Smoke. - For, some time secretary to Sir •Barrie Jackson, of the Repertoire Theatre, Birmingham, it was only one of her experiences m the world of business, for she was secretary to the first woman engineer of England, and at another time to the two first lady barristers of the Old Country. During the war Miss Grew took her share of doing things for the country, and was one of those who held a responsible position m the aerial equipment department at Bromwich. It may be said, m fact, that Miss Grew typifies very plainly the modern young woman of the day who can and will, tackle anything. ' Her activities are not only confined to business, for she has interested Tier-; self m the club movement and is one of the committee of the Auckland Lyceum, which is "the" women's club of that city.
