SATISFACTORY
Ashhurst Form Is All Right Too often, m \he past has the running at Ashhurst. been open to very serious doubt.
LIOWEVER, the meeting last week • was very abltf conducted and the form displayed was quite all right, if one or two cases axe excepted. Whatever the meeting be, and ' wherever, there will always be something suspicious. Looking at the maiden race' it appeared as though; Eloquent was not ridden out, and, an inquiry was held, but after due deliberation the benefit of" the doubt was given. Perhaps an inquiry could have been held into the last race. At least two of the runners appeared to be looking on, and m the case of one, the jockey had to do all sorts of things to prevent his mount from getting too near the Readers. The last race of the day is generally, good for such tactics.
All concerned with the meeting are m a hurry to get off home, and that being ;so there is an inclination to allow cases to slide. Which is quite a wrong, attitude to takeup.
