Doggedly battling away after a bad start- in the senior competition, Moutere, who had reached level terms with Opawa, met an unexpected defeat oh Saturday at ' the hands of Central by 26 to 9. A FEATURE of the game was Laniason's play for the winners. He scored a try and kicked two penalty goals besides converting his own and three other tries scored by Wilson, Clark, and Connolly. Moutere did not succeed m crossing Central's line, their nine being made up of .three 'penalty goals. Opawa played a strong game against the weak opposition of the Waitohi team, whom they defeate-d by 55 to 3. .• Tom Gleeson was the star of the winning team, scoring four tries.
