Doggedly battling away after a bad start- in the senior competition, Moutere, who had reached level terms with Opawa, met an unexpected defeat oh Saturday at ' the hands of Central by 26 to 9. A FEATURE of the game was Laniason's play for the winners. He scored a try and kicked two penalty goals besides converting his own and three other tries scored by Wilson, Clark, and Connolly. Moutere did not succeed m crossing Central's line, their nine being made up of .three 'penalty goals. Opawa played a strong game against the weak opposition of the Waitohi team, whom they defeate-d by 55 to 3. .• Tom Gleeson was the star of the winning team, scoring four tries. The rep. team to meet Golden Bay for the Seddon Shield on Saturday is announced as follows (reading from the full-back and finishing with ' the hookers) : : Leo. O'Brien, T. Gleeson, J.
