WAIKATO CLUB'S DILEMMA

' (From "Truth's" Special Auckland Representative.) THE Waikato Trotting Club and the Waikato A. and P. Association were at variance recently over certain conditions imposed on the Trotting Club regarding alterations and improvements .at Claudelands. The outcome was that the W.T.C. carried a motion that, unless the Association was prepared to meet them more reasonably, it may become necessary to consider racing elsewhere. Nothing definite is known at time of writing, but it is hoped the trouble has ended, for, if the Association clings to its intentions, it looks as if the money already spent on improvements by the Trotting Club will be hard to recover.

The big trotter, Nelson Bell, has changed his address. He is now attached to Cecil Donald's establishment. Henry Logan's knee threatens to keep him off the race track for some time. ",* ' • * ; Count Dee has been responsible for a lot of impressive 'work. He can trot fast and is solid with it. Deiavan's Quest is hitting out m renewed style at Addington. He is carrying a lot of condition. • # * Logan King is among the regular toilers at the seaside course, but he win have to mend his ways. to encourage anyone to support him m a race. ' » • * ■• • Loganwood is m better buckle than ever he has been and don't be surprised if he wins on the first day of the August fixture. ■•«•.# '. '* R. E. Mills is doing the best he can with a sister to Reta Peter. Her name is Reta Huon. •♦■ * - • The ancieat trotting gelding. Whispering WilliP is as bright as a new pin, but N. C. Price will have to keep his coat off' to get him to stand a thorough preparation. • • * William the Great is m regular work, but it is questionable if this solid young pacer will see but two miles at •the August meeting. . • •• . * . • • One of the trotters that has done well since he raced m June is Mount Royal. '■■* ♦ ♦ • Onyx is not carrying as much condition as her connections would like her to, and there is a very good chance of her being left at home during, the August meeting. .
